The successful youth initiative "The Big Noise" undertaken by The Niagara Regional Police Service Pipe Band is once again opening the doors to more young people across the entire Niagara Region. The current band roster of 35 members includes 26 from ages 13 - 21.
Band instructors will take the time to explain the program goals as they teach and enable youth from Grimsby to Fort Erie how to play bagpipes, the snare drum or the flourishing tenor drum.

On January 22, 2020, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service 5 District - Fort Erie Detective Office concluded an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs from a residence in the Forsythe Street and Waterloo Street of Fort Erie.
Detectives executed a search warrant which resulted in two arrests and the seizure of cocaine, indicators of trafficking and prohibited weapons including brass knuckles and a spring loaded knife.

At approximately 12:30pm on Wednesday January 22, 2020, 1 District (St. Catharines) uniform officers were called to the area of Third Street Louth and President Crt in the City of St. Catharines following the reports of a violent home robbery.
Investigation has revealed that three men armed with handguns forced their way into the home and assaulted the elderly male and female who were home at the time.
The male suspects then fled in a black car.
The male victim was transported to hospital for assessment...

At approximately 9am on Wednesday January 22, 2020 1 District (St. Catharines) uniform officers were called to an apartment building in the area of Queenston St. and Riordon St. in the City of St. Catharines following the report of a disturbance.
When officers arrived they located two adult males, aged 56 and 58, with injuries. The males were transported to a local hospital for assessment before both being airlifted to an out of town hospital with life threatening injuries.
