NRPS Detectives Investigating Further Damage to Parked Cars in Niagara – Update 1 – Photo

Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service continue to investigate the series of damage incidents that have occurred across the Niagara Region.

A suspect and car photo were obtained from a recent incident in St. Catharines / Thorold.  The image of the suspect is of poor quality; however, the car may be more recognizable.

UPDATE 1 - Detectives investigating following St. Catharines homicide

Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide Unit continue to investigate this incident.

Through their investigation, a suspect was identified and taken into custody.

28-year-old Keenan George of St. Catharines is facing the following charge:

-        2nd degree murder

George is currently being held in custody pending a video bail hearing on Friday July 1, 2022.

The victim, a 29-year-old male, and the suspect were known to each other.

Detectives investigating following St. Catharines homicide

At approximately 9:30pm on Thursday June 30, 2022, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold uniform officers were called to the area of Old Pine Trail (Vine Street and Old Pine Trail) in the City of St. Catharines following the report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male with injuries and no vital signs. The male was pronounced deceased shortly after.

Currently, the investigation remains on-going by detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit.

NRPS Detectives Seeking Information on West Lincoln (Smithville) Robbery

On June 29, 2022, at approximately 1:28pm, 8 District – Grimsby uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred in West Lincoln (Smithville).

Officers attended to the area of Griffin Street North and St. Catharines Street where they met the victim and bystanders.  The victim, a female in 70s sustained minor injuries during the robbery was treated by paramedics from Niagara Emergency Medical Services.

Detectives from multiple districts of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) are investigating further incidents of overnight damage to parked cars.
