Robbery - Convenience store robbery in St. Catharines

During the early morning hours on Tuesday November 14th, 2017 shortly after midnight, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the 711 convenience store located at 104 Lake Street in the City of St.Catharines.
 
The lone male entered the store, then asked the cashier for a carton of cigarettes.  The two began to struggle with the carton of cigarettes when the male managed to remove one package from the carton.  When the clerk failed to meet the suspects demands for the remainder of the carton he produced a weapon from his pocket.  
 
The suspect fled the scene on foot with a quantity of merchandise.  He was  last seen running on Louisa Street toward Henry Street near Welland Avenue. The clerk did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect is described as:
Male, 30-40 years approximately 5'10" to 6' tall with a skinny build, wearing a black baseball hat, black heavy sweater/jacket and dark pants.
