Drugs - Crystal Meth Investigation Results in Arrest

   During the summer of 2018, members of the St. Catharines Street Crime Unit, with the Niagara Regional Police Service, conducted an investigation in to the alleged sales of crystal methamphetamine. It was determined that the drugs were being sold from a residence directly across from a high school on Catherine Street in the City of St. Catharines.
 
   On Wednesday, September 12, 2018 Police were granted a search warrant for this residence. At approximately 4:12 pm the male under investigation was arrested after he left the residence. Police then conducted a search of his residence.
 
    As a result Police seized a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, Canadian currency believed to be the proceeds of these drug sales, and a prohibited device.
 
   Arrested and charged is 29 year old St. Catharines resident, Jason CAVANAGH. CAVANAGH was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
