Assault - Assault with a weapon St. Catharines - Suspect arrested

On Saturday February 9, 2019 at approximately 11:50 am police attended a residence located in the area Niagara Street and Church Street in response to an assault with a weapon call.  Upon arrival police found a 46 year old female suffering from multiple wounds as a result of a verbal altercation that turned physical.  The victim, who suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries, was transported to Niagara Health System where she was treated and subsequently released. The  suspect, who is described as a female, approximately 30 years of age, has not yet been identified.  The investigation which is ongoing is currently being conducted by members of One District Criminal Investigations Branch. 
 
Further investigation lead to the suspect being identified an a warrant issued for her arrest.  On Tuesday February 19, 2019 as a result of another investigation the accused was arrested on the strength of the outstanding arrest warrant.  The accused identified as thirty year old Ashley MacMillian has been charged with Aggravated Assault in relation to this incident.  MacMillian was subsequently held pending a bail hearing set for Wednesday February 20, 2019
