Drugs - Federal Parolee Facing Numerous Drug Related Charges

On Tuesday December 5th 2017, a Canada Wide parole warrant was issued for a 30 year St. Catharines man. Members of the Repeat Offenders Parole Enforcement Squad (R.O.P.E) were actively attempting to locate and arrest this male.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., Jonathan WHALEN was arrested without incident by members of the R.O.P.E squad. During his arrest Police located a quantity of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine, Heroin and Fentanyl powder.
This investigation was continued by members of the St. Catharines Street Crime Unit.  Police applied and were then granted judicial authorization to search the residence belonging to WHALEN. During the search Police located a large quantity Crystal Methamphetamine, Heroin, Cocaine, Marijuana and Canadian currency.

Arrested and charged was 30 year old Jonathan WHALEN of St. Catharines.

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x7
Possession of a Controlled Substance x 2
Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000 x 2
Numerous Parole Violations
Arrested and charged was 28 year old Hannah TICE of St. Catharines.

In total Police seized a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Cocaine, Heroin and Marijuana which held an estimated street value of $26,000. Police also seized $4150 in Canadian currency and two prohibited weapons.

WHALEN was held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 6th 2017, TICE was released on an Officer in Charge Undertaking with a court date in the New Year. WHALEN will also be held responsible for his alleged violations with the Federal Parole Board.
