Traffic Collision - Pedestrian Fatal in St.Catharines

At approximately 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 10th, 2018, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services, St.Catharines Fire Services and the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle on St. Paul Street West near Seventh Street Louth in the City of St.Catharines, within the Regional Municipality of Niagara, Ontario.
 
Initial investigation revealed that a 33-year-old Ajax male was on St. Paul Street West when he was struck by a westbound 2017 Dodge Caravan that was being driven by a 32-year-old St.Catharines male. This pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being pronounced.
 
The driver of the Dodge did not suffer any physical injuries in this collision.
 
This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner's Office and Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
