Application Process


The NRPS is continually hiring qualified candidates for the position of Police Constable. We are always going through different stages of the process in an attempt to gain the best candidates for Ontario Police College.

The NRPS represents Unity, Responsibility and Loyalty and is looking for people who represent these qualities. We are also seeking people who are concerned and able to interact with people of all different backgrounds in the community we serve. Integrity must be present. We want people who want to make a difference in the lives of others.

The information contained within the recruitment pages relate to different areas of the hiring process as well as valuable links to assist you. It is recommended that you review all the information in detail to gain insights into the NRPS recruitment process, the Constable Selection System, and your own readiness to challenge this recruitment process. The process can be long and you must be prepared for every stage as it comes.There are hundreds of candidates applying to the Niagara Regional Police Service and only a limited number of positions to be filled. You are, therefore, competing with others for employment. The caliber of our recruits is high and it is a very competitive process, be prepared for every step.

Your ATS certificate must be current and up to date at every stage. Please ensure you send us any updates as you receive them to keep your file current. Files expire one year to the day of first submission.

The steps required to apply are as follows;

  1. Obtain your Certificate of Results (C.O.R.) from Applicant Testing Services
  2. Obtain your Standard First Aid/CPR level "C" Certification.
  3. Update your resume with cover letter.
  4. Acquire a copy of your high school AND post secondary school transcripts (originals will be required upon hire).
  5. Submit the application available online OR print and complete the application from this website.

Please note: you are encouraged to complete either the online application or the printable version not both.

Also note: when using the online application, you will have the option to upload electronic copies of your transcripts (scanned), your CPR certificate (scanned), your resume and cover letter, and any other important documents.
