On Tuesday, September 8th, 2020, 1 District (St. Catharines) Uniform Officers attended the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Alexandria, located at 67 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines, in relation to a break and enter.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 4:30am, two unknown males had broken into the Cathedral and stole the tabernacle from the main alter.

On Wednesday, September 9th, 2020, the tabernacle was recovered in the area of 12 Mile Creek, in the City of St. Catharines.

Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines) Street Crime Unit, are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects.

The first suspect is described as:

  • Male

Clothing Description:

  • Red Hoodie
  • Camo Pants
  • Black Running Shoes
  • Carrying a Backpack

The second suspect is described as:

  • Male

Clothing Description

  • Grey Jogging Pants
  • Black Hoodie
  • Pushing a Shopping Cart
  • Carrying a Backpack
