Fire - Pickup Truck Fire in St. Catharines

On July 12, 2019 ,at approximately 1:30AM 1 (St. Catharines) District uniform officers responded to the area of Taylor Avenue and Pleasant Avenue in St. Catharines for a report of a pickup truck on fire.

Officers arrived on-scene along with St. Catharines Fire Services to find a black 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck on fire.  The fire was extinguished without any damage to the adjacent vehicles or structures.

A K9 Unit conducted a search of the area without any result.
The scene was held for forensic examination. It has now been cleared.

The community of St. Catharines, particularly the downtown core area, is being asked to remain vigilant and to contact police dispatch to report any suspicious activity in your neighbourhoods.

Any resident with security cameras in the area of the fire are asked to review their captured video footage for anything of a suspicious nature.

The 1 District Criminal Investigation Branch detectives are asking anyone with information to contact 905-688-4111 extension 9073.
