Weapons - Niagara Falls Shooting Suspect Arrested

In the evening of Saturday August 10, police attended at a townhouse complex located at 6118 Kelsey Crescent in Niagara Falls. With judicial authorization detectives and tactical officers from the Niagara Regional Police Emergency Services Unit secured a residence within the townhouse complex. The same tactical officers successfully orchestrated the peaceful surrender of 28 year old David Nathaniel JOSEPH of no fixed address. JOSEPH was taken into custody and turned over to detectives and is now facing a number of weapons-related charges.
Investigators believe he had been moving throughout Niagara Falls in an effort to avoid arrest. He is being held at police headquarters in Niagara Falls pending a Bail Hearing. 
On August 2, 2019, at approximately 7:33 P.M., officers were called to an address on Willoughby Drive, in the City of Niagara Falls, in response to a shooting.
2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), along with Detectives from the 2 District Criminal Investigation Branch attended the scene.
As a result of the investigation, the suspect has been identified as David JOSEPH 91/02/25. JOSEPH is currently wanted for the following offences:
- Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound / Endanger Life Section 244(1) CC
- Pointing a Firearm Section 87(1) CC
- Careless Use of a Firearm Section 86(1) CC
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order Section 117.01(1) CC
JOSEPH's whereabouts are unknown at this time. He was last seen operating a 2012 black Fiat, bearing Ontario licence plate #CJKL 632. It is believed that one or more of the vehicle's windows received damaged.
JOSEPH is believed to be armed and dangerous; therefore, members of the public should not approach JOSEPH and are urged to call 9-1-1 if he is observed.
No one was injured as a result of this incident.
This incident is believed to be an isolated matter.
