On June 29th, 2022, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) commenced an investigation into back-to-back armed robberies in the City of Niagara Falls.

On July 2nd, 2022, detectives identified the suspect as Jeffrey Christopher SWALM (45 years) of Niagara Falls and appealed to members of the public for assistance locating him.

On July 7th, 2022, detectives acquired additional images of SWALM and continued to appeal to members of the public for assistance

On July 9th, 2022, at approximately 4:45pm SWALM was observed in the area of Montrose Road and Brown Road, in the City of Niagara Falls.  Uniform patrol officers assigned to 2 District attended the area and located SWALM who was subsequently arrested.

SWALM is currently in police custody and is being charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

          • Robbery using firearm (2 counts)

          • Pointing a firearm (2 counts)

          • Disguised with intent (2 counts)

SWALM is being held for a scheduled bail hearing via video link to the John Sopinka Courthouse on July 10th, 2022, located at 45 Main Street East, in the City of Hamilton.
