Public Complaints

Policing in the Province of Ontario is governed by the Ontario Police Services Act. The Act outlines a process for the handling of public complaints that must be adhered to. In accordance with that process, complaints (about incidents that occurred on or after October 19, 2009) must be filed with the Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD).  For further information on the public complaints process in Ontario, please contact the OIPRD at:
