UPDATE - 2 Additional Arrests - Search for suspects following 2019 downtown St. Catharines Shooting

Detectives from the 1 District St. Catharines Criminal Investigative Branch continue to investigate the shooting incident that occurred in downtown St. Catharines on September 29, 2019 that resulted in six persons being shot. 

On the morning of April 2, 2020, with the assistance of the Hamilton Police Emergency Response Unit, the Niagara Regional Police Service executed a search warrant at a Stoney Creek residence and arrested two people in connection to this shooting investigation.


Arrest in Downtown St. Catharines Assault

On Thursday, April 2, 2020, at approximately 10:00am, 1 District St. Catharines uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of James Street and St. Paul Street in the City of St. Catharines for a report of an assault.

The victim, a 61 year old male, suffered a serious injury after being struck with a weapon.  He was treated and transported by paramedics from Niagara Emergency Medical Service to a local hospital for treatment.

NRPS Detectives Investigating Suspicious Death in Niagara Falls – Update 1

Update 1 - March 31, 2020

Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide and Forensic Services Units are continuing to investigate the discovery of a body in the rural area of Ort Road and Marshall Road in Niagara Falls.

The body of a 24 year old man from the Toronto area was discovered on March 29, 2020 at approximately 12:45pm, in a wooded area near Ort Road and Marshall Road.

A post mortem examination was conducted on March 30, 2020.

Detectives are now treating this matter as a homicide...

On Tuesday March 31, 2020, at approximately 9:10am, officers responded to a report of a car doing circles with a person on the hood on Stanley Avenue north of Roger Crescent in Niagara Falls.

Further calls to the Niagara Regional Police Service Communications Unit led 2 District Niagara Falls uniform officers to the area of Main Street and Ferry Street in Niagara Falls again for a report of man riding on the hood of a car.  Officers arrived on scene to find that the car had left the area. ...

NRPS Arrested Man Following Overnight Stabbing in Niagara Falls

On Tuesday March 31st, 2020, at approximately 12:05am 2 District uniform officers responded to a Niagara Falls hotel in the area of Kitchener Street and Slater Avenue for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim outside of one of the motel rooms suffering from an apparent stab wound. The man was treated at the scene by Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics and personnel from the Niagara Falls Fire Service.

The victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital...
