Grimsby Male Charged with Indecent Act

On Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at approximately 1:30 PM, uniformed officers with Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) were dispatched to an Indecent Act call near Livingston Avenue and St. Andrews Avenue in the Town of Grimsby.

The call was for a male who was seen committing an indecent act in public while watching his cell phone.  Uniformed officers obtained video footage of the male, along with a description from the adult witness.  Police searched the area; however, the male fled prior to police attendance.

The investigation was taken over by the 8 District Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB).  Detectives were able to identify the male, and on Friday, January 16th, 2026, arrested 37-year-old Arie VAN ES of Grimsby.

VAN ES was charged with the following offences.

• Indecent Act
• Breach of Prohibition Order

VAN ES was held for a bail hearing which took place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
