NRPS Launches 6th Annual Spring Food Drive

As part of Police Week 2026 “Protecting Ontario Through Service” - The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is proud to announce it will be hosting the 6th annual NRPS Spring Food Drive. The food drive will take place between May 11 - May 14, 2026 between 9 AM and 3 PM daily.

The NRPS will be partnering with 10 local food banks, 13 local grocery stores, as well as Post Foods Canada in an effort to help support the demand for food and donations within Niagara.  Food insecurity is often supported in the community over the holiday season through collections and drives, however NRPS Spring Food Drive was created to tackle year-round food insecurity affecting families and individuals in our community.

The food drive is being organized by officers from the Niagara Regional Police CORE Unit (Community Oriented Response & Engagement). The past five years of the NRPS Spring Food Drive has led to incredible community donations of 73,500 pounds of food and $53,000 in cash/gift cards.

The NRPS encourages everyone in Niagara to participate, and to please consider donating to support this important initiative.

2026 NRPS Spring Food Drive Schedule

Day 1 – Monday, May 11, 2026 (9 AM – 3 PM)

• Pelham (Pelham Cares) – Food Basics, located at 130 Highway 20 East
• Port Colborne (Port Cares) – Sobeys, located at 287 West Side Road
• Fort Erie (The Salvation Army) – No Frills, located at 1135 Thompson Road

Day 2 – Tuesday, May 12, 2026 (9 AM – 3 PM)

• Grimsby (GBF Community Service) – Real Canadian Superstore, located at 361 South Service Road
• St Catharines (Community Care) – Real Canadian Superstore, located at 411 Louth Street
• St Catharines (Community Care) – No Frills, Located at 581 Lake Street
• Smithville (West Lincoln Community Centre) – Foodland, located at 239 St Catharine Street

Day 3 – Wednesday, May 13, 2026 (9 AM – 3 PM) 

• Beamsville (Community Care of West Niagara) – No Frills, located at 4961 King Street East
• Welland (The Hope Centre) – No Frills, located at 390 Lincoln Street East
• Niagara Falls (Project Share) – Food Basics, located at 3770 Montrose Road

Day 4 – Thursday, May 14, 2026 (9 AM – 3 PM)

• Niagara Falls (Project Share) – Zehrs, located at 6940 Morrison Street
• Welland (The Hope Centre) – Zehrs, located at 821 Niagara Street
• Niagara-on-the-Lake (Newark Neighbours) – Your Independent Grocer, located at 1551 Niagara Stone Road
