Swatting Incident at Multiple Niagara Region Schools
On Thursday, March 5, 2026 at approximately 8:10 AM, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) was notified of several threats made towards schools throughout the region. Out of an abundance of caution, schools were placed into a hold and secure while an investigation took place.
Uniform officers attended all affected schools throughout the region and determined the threats to be not credible. This incident appears to be a swatting incident via email. The hold and secure has been lifted at all involved schools.
Detectives continue to investigate this incident and are asking anyone with information to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at (905) 688-4111, option 3, extension 1009346.
Members of the community who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477(TIPS). Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to people who contact the program with information which leads to an arrest.
