Weapons Call in Fort Erie Proves to be a Pellet Gun
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, at approximately 10:15 a.m., uniformed officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 5 District (Fort Erie) received a call for a male with a weapon in a yard on Crescent Road near Hollywood Street in Fort Erie.
Out of an abundance of caution, police shut down Crescent Road between Hollywood Street and Phillips Street while they investigated the matter. The investigation revealed that an adult male had a pellet gun in his yard. Further investigation determined that nothing criminal had taken place in the incident and no arrests were made, nor were there any charges laid.
The road had been closed for approximately one hour but has since re-opened. There had been no risk to public safety and the NRPS would like to thank the public for their patience while the matter was resolved.
