  • Missing 83-year-old Male to Locate in Lincoln

    The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 8 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Gerald Granatier an 83-year-old man from Lincoln.

    Gerald was last seen on Sunday, July 25, 2025, at his residence in the Greenlane and Tufford Rd area of Lincoln. His current whereabouts are unknown, and there is growing concern for his well-being among both his family and police investigators.

    Gerald is described as follows:

    • Age: 83
    • Race: White
    • Height: 6’
    • Weight: 170 lbs
    • Hair: Short, white
    • Eyes: Blue
    • Usually clean shaven
    • Last known clothing: Unknown
  • Grimsby Male Missing – Public Assistance Requested

    Uniform Officers and Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) are investigating a missing person incident.

    Seventy-two-year-old Wolfgang Glaser of Grimsby was last seen leaving a bar on Main Street West near Christie Street in Grimsby on June 21, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m. His vehicle was seen about 10 minutes later near the information centre located by the QEW and Casablanca Boulevard in Grimsby. He did not return home and was reported missing on June 22, 2025, at approximately 9 a.m.

  • Niagara Regional Police Service Warns Citizens About Ongoing Fraud Schemes

    In response to an alarming rise in fraud schemes, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is urging residents to remain vigilant and safeguard their personal and financial information.

    Fraudsters are increasingly using sophisticated techniques to exploit individuals. Common scams include:

    • Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) scams: Scammers impersonate government officials, claiming taxpayers owe money and must pay immediately.
    • Grandparent scams: A scammer pretends to be a relative in distress, urgently requesting money.
    • Bank investigator scams: Fraudsters pose as bank employees investigating suspicious activity.
  • NRPS Seeking to Identify Person of Interest – Update 1 - WANTED

    On April 22, 2025, uniform officers from the 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) office of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a belated assault in St. Catharines.

    The initial investigation determined that on April 19, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a 10-year-old girl was inside the library on Church Street in St. Catharines. An unknown adult male approached her, engaged in a brief conversation, and then grabbed her arm. He subsequently released her and left the library. The victim was not physically injured.

  • NRPS Investigating Theft of Jewellery – St. Catharines

    The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) office is investigating a significant theft of jewellery from a St. Catharines residence.

    On April 10, 2025, 1 District uniform officers attended a residence in the area of Read Road and Lakeshore Road in St. Catharines following a report of theft. The complainant advised officers they had recently returned home after being out of the country. Upon their return, they discovered several pieces of jewellery had been stolen from within the home.

  • Toronto (Scarborough) Man Wanted Following NRPS Investigation

    In early April 2025, detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) began investigating incidents involving allegations of death threats and criminal harassment.

    The incidents occurred between March and April 2025 in the Niagara Region and involved an adult female victim. As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives formed grounds to believe the adult male suspect committed the offences. The victim and suspect were previously known to each other.

    Detectives have not yet located the suspect, and an arrest warrant has been issued for Jeremiah Rasheed Pooran, 30, of Toronto. He is wanted for the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Missing Person - NRPS Attempting to Locate Thorold Man – Update 5

    The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) missing person investigation for Nicholas ADAMSON (29 years) of St. Catharines remains open and ongoing by 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) detectives.

     

    Today marks three years since he went missing.

     

    Nicholas was last seen in the early morning hours of Thursday March 17th, 2022, on foot in the area of the Moose & Goose located at 54 Paul De Divitis Sr. Way, in the City of Thorold.

     

    Nicholas is described as:

    • Male
    • White
    • 5’10” tall
    • 140 lbs

     

    Last seen wearing:

    • Blue jeans
    • White shirt with collar
  • Arrest Made in relation to Commercial Break and Enter in St. Catharines

    On February 7, 2025, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a commercial break and enter related call for service in the area of Louth Street and Rykert Street in the City of St. Catharines.

  • UPDATE 1 – Suspicious Sudden Death in St. Catharines

    Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Unit detectives continue to investigate the suspicious sudden death of an adult female in the City of St. Catharines.

    At 7:00pm the scene was released and residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

    There is no information to suggest an on-going risk to the public, residents, or staff within the apartment building.

    Detectives ask that anyone with information contact them by calling (905) 688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009134.

    Members of the public who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.  Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to persons who contact the program with information which leads to an arrest.

  • Suspicious Sudden Death in St. Catharines

    Detectives are investigating following the suspicious sudden death of an adult female in the City of St. Catharines. 

    At approximately 9:30am on Thursday January 9, 2025, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers were called to an apartment in the area of Church and Court Streets.

    When they arrived, they discovered a 67-year-old female deceased inside the apartment.

    At this time, no arrests have been made. 

    There is currently a police presence in the area with Homicide detectives, along with the Forensic Services Unit (FSU) investigating.
