NRPS 1 District CIB Investigating Suspicious Animal Remains - St. Catharines

On Monday, June 15, 2026, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District ( St Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers responded to Arthur Street Park in the City of St Catharines for reports of animal remains.

Detectives with 1 District Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) have taken carriage of the investigation and believe the circumstances of the animal remains to be suspicious. Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have attended the park between Saturday, June 13 and Monday, June 15.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at (905) 688-4111, option 3, extension 1009756. Residents and businesses in the area are asked to review any video surveillance footage and contact police if anything suspicious is observed.

Members of the community who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477(TIPS). Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to people who contact the program with information which leads to an arrest.
