Public Assistance Requested in an Arson Investigation in Welland
On Sunday June 14, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 3 District (Welland/Pelham) responded, along with Welland Fire and Emergency Services, to a report of a structure fire at a residence on Beatrice Street south of Ontario Road in the city of Weland.
Welland Fire and Emergency Services quickly extinguished the house fire. The house was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.
The fire was deemed to be an arson and detectives with the 3 District Criminal Investigative Bureau (CIB) have taken carriage of the investigation, in cooperation with the Ontario Fire Marshall.
Detectives are appealing to members of the community for information that may assist in identifying a vehicle that was in the area prior to the fire. The vehicle is described as a grey or silver 4 door pickup truck.
