17-year-old Male in Hospital After Hit & Run Collision
On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at approximately 10:55 AM, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers responded to a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Lundy’s Lane and Royal Manor Drive in the City of Niagara Falls.
The collision involved a blue Pontiac Torrent SUV and an electric scooter that was operated by a 17-year-old male. The driver of Pontiac Torrent SUV failed to stop after the collision, leaving the victim severely injured on the roadway. The victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital with life threatening injuries.
The Pontiac Torrent SUV involved in the collision was identified and was located with assistance from the Hamilton Police Service (HPS). The driver of the motor vehicle was placed under arrest for impaired operation of a conveyance.
Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) have carriage of the investigation, and the investigation of the initial collision remains ongoing.
