18-Year-Old Male Charged with Drug Trafficking in Niagara Falls
In September and October of 2026, detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) Street Crime Unit (SCU) commenced an investigation into the trafficking of controlled substances in the city of Niagara Falls, primarily in the Main Street and Ferry Street area.
A suspect was identified and a judicial authorization to search a residence in the Kalar Road and Coventry Road area was granted. On October 7, 2026, that search warrant was executed with the assistance of the Emergency Task Unit (ETU) and the following items were seized.
- 99.6 grams of suspected fentanyl (estimated value $9960)
- Approximately 500 suspected dilaudid pills (estimated value $5000)
- 1 gram of suspected cocaine (estimated value $100)
- $8025 Canadian currency
18-year-old Rayono “JJ” CURRIE of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with the following offences.
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Hydromorphone)
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
CURRIE remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing October 7, 2026, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
