23-year-old Brampton Male Arrested in Violent Home Robbery – Grimsby
On Friday, May 1, 2026, at approximately 3:30 AM, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) officers responded to a residence in the Town of Grimsby for a violent home invasion. Responding officers discovered that the suspects had fled the area in a vehicle prior to police arrival. The victim in this matter was assaulted and received minor injuries.
8 District Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) subsequently took carriage of the investigation and identified a suspect in the matter.
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, the suspect was arrested with assistance from the Peel Regional Police Tactical and Rescue Unit. 23-year-old Jahsyah THOMAS of Brampton is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Disguise with Intent
- Break and Enter Commit
- Possession of a Weapon
- Assault with a Weapon
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Pointing a Firearm
- Uttering Threats
THOMAS remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
