41-year-old St Catharines Male Arrested on 19 Outstanding Warrants
In the summer of 2026, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Street Crime Unit (SCU) and 3 District (Welland/Pelham) Street Crime Unit began an investigation into a male who was wanted on the strength of 19 warrants within the Region of Niagara.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the accused was observed driving a vehicle in St. Catharines and subsequently exited the vehicle at a business on Fourth Avenue. At 12:20 PM, the accused was arrested while attempting to re-enter the vehicle.
41-year-old Joshua STEPHENS of St. Catharines was arrested for the following criminal offences:
- Break and Enter with Intent (2 counts)
- Break and Enter Commit (4 counts)
- Dangerous Operation (3 counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (8 counts)
- Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident (2 counts)
- Flight from Peace Officer (2 counts)
- Operation While Prohibited (8 counts)
- Possession of Credit Card within Canada
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (9 counts)
- Resist Arrest
- Theft of Motor Vehicle (4 counts)
- Theft over $5000
- Theft under $5000 (2 counts)
STEPHENS remains in custody and attended a bail hearing on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St Catharines.
