Firearms Seizure at St. Catharines Nightclub
On Friday, August 14, 2026, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers were conducting proactive patrols in the area of downtown St Catharines, when they were notified by security of an incident at a bar on St Paul Street.
Security guards denied entrance to two patrons who attempted to enter the bar while concealing an illegal firearm. The two patrons fled the scene, and security notified police. 1 District officers conducted a search of the area, and the two suspects were located and arrested.
As a result of the investigation, a 9mm Glock 43 Handgun loaded with live ammunition rounds was seized.
26-year-old Giovanni JERVIS of St Catharines is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited Ammunition
- Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Without Holding a License
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
20-year-old Aireonna WILSON of St Catharines is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited Ammunition
- Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Without Holding a License
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
JERVIS and WILSON remain in custody and are scheduled to attend a bail hearing on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St Catharines.
