MISSING PERSON - Male in Niagara-on-the-Lake - UPDATE 7
September 17, 2026, marks five years since Darren Werner was reported missing from the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Despite an exhaustive investigation, Darren’s whereabouts remain unknown.
The investigation remains open and is being treated as a missing person investigation involving suspicious circumstances.
Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide Unit continue to lead the investigation and are renewing their appeal to anyone who may have information about Darren’s disappearance.
Anyone with information, regardless of how insignificant it may seem or how much time has passed, is asked to contact detectives at (905) 688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009451.

Update 1 - September 23, 2021
The Niagara Regional Police Service continues to search for missing 58 year old, Darren Werner of Niagara on the Lake.
As a result of the investigation, a ground search was conducted in the area of his residence and the NRPS UAV was deployed to search the area as well.
Darren was last seen on September 16, 2021, in the area of Townline Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the 2 District detective office.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is currently searching for a missing 58 year old male from Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Darren Werner was last seen on September 16, 2021, at approximately 9:00am, in the area of Townline Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Darren is described as:
- Male
- White
- 5’11
- 180lbs
- Short grey hair
- Brown eyes
Darren was last seen travelling in an unknown vehicle. Police and his family are concerned for Darren’s welfare and are requesting the public's help in locating him.
