Niagara Falls Man Arrested in Firearms Investigation
On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers responded to an unknown 911 call at an address on Ferry Street near Main Street. Responding officers were unable to locate anyone in distress in the surrounding area.
During their search, a discarded Glock handgun loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition was located and seized. 2 District uniform officers led an investigation into the owner of the firearm, which identified a suspect.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the 2 District Street Crime Unit (SCU) took carriage of the investigation and obtained judicial authorization to search a residence in the area of Lundy’s Lane and Drummond Road in Niagara Falls. The search warrant was executed with assistance from the Emergency Task Unit (ETU), and the suspect was arrested within the residence. An additional starter revolver and ammunition were seized within the residence.
49-year-old Patrick GAGNON of Niagara Falls is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm Without a License
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Restricted Firearm – To Wit Ammunition
GAGNON remains in custody and attended a bail hearing on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
