Niagara Residents Invited to Help Shape the Future of Community Safety

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is asking community members to help shape the future of community safety by participating in a new Community Safety Survey aimed at identifying community priorities and opportunities to strengthen policing and public safety across Niagara.

The survey is part of the Service's ongoing commitment to community engagement and will help inform implementation of the NRPS 2026–2029 Strategic Plan.  Community members are encouraged to share their perspectives on topics such as neighbourhood safety, trust and confidence in policing, emerging issues, and areas where the Service can enhance prevention and engagement.

"Community safety is strongest when it's shaped by the people who live here," said Chief Bill Fordy. "This survey is an opportunity for community members to tell us what's working and where they have concerns or see opportunities for improvement. Their feedback will help guide our priorities and ensure that we are focused on the issues that matter most to our communities."

The survey is open to all Niagara community members and will remain available, in English and French, until August 7, 2026. 

Responses will be reviewed to identify key themes and opportunities to strengthen community safety initiatives across the region.

Community members can complete the survey online by visiting Community Safety Survey | Niagara Regional Police Service or by scanning the QR code available on promotional materials distributed at community events.

Throughout the summer, members of the NRPS will also be attending community events across Niagara to encourage participation and answer questions about the survey.

The results will be used to help guide strategic priorities and support evidence-informed decision-making while also strengthening partnerships that contribute to safer communities throughout Niagara.
