Police Investigating Serious E-Scooter Collision on Friendship Trail
Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a serious e-scooter collision that occurred on the Friendship Trail in the Town of Fort Erie.
On Friday, July 31, 2026, at approximately 1:40 p.m., uniform officers in 5 District (Fort Erie) responded to a collision that had occurred on the Friendship Trail.
Investigation revealed that a 63-year-old Fort Erie male lost control of his electric scooter and sustained life-threatening injuries.
He was transported to an out of region hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The CRU has assumed carriage of the investigation. There is no evidence at this time that another vehicle was involved.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash camera or other video footage from the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact investigators by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009504.
