Thorold Man Arrested in Drug Trafficking Investigation
In the summer of 2026, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Street Crime Unit (SCU) began an investigation into the illegal trafficking of drugs from an address on Queenston Street in St Catharines. The suspect was observed exhibiting behaviour that is consistent with drug trafficking.
On Thursday, October 1, 2026, the suspect was arrested in the area of Duke Street and Wellington Court with assistance from the Emergency Task Unit (ETU). Detectives applied for and were granted judicial search warrants for a residence on Queenston Street, and a BMW SUV driven by the suspect.
The following items were seized:
- 290 grams suspected fentanyl (street value $29,000)
- 188 grams suspected cocaine (street value $18,800)
- $2000 Canadian Currency
20-year-old Iverson KALOMBO of Thorold is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
KALOMBO remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
