Two Males Arrested in Theft of Cable Incident in Port Colborne
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, at approximately 8:15 a.m., uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 6 District (Port Colborne/Wainfleet) responded to the area of Cement Road and Lakeshore Road in Port Colborne for a report of a male cutting cable wires in the area.
Police arrived on scene and located three males with cut cables in their possession. One male was arrested on scene; two males fled the scene. One of those males was located and arrested a short time later, and the third male remains outstanding.
39-year-old Jason Royce WHITE of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with the following offences.
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Mischief Under $5000
- Theft Under $5000
35-year-old Charles Steven BURNETT of Port Colborne was arrested and charged with the following offences.
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Break in Instruments
WHITE remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on September 25, 2026, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
BURNETT was released with a future court date.
The third suspect remains outstanding, and no suspect description is available.
