Update #1: 1 Male Injured in Shooting Incident – Niagara Falls
Detectives with 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) continue to investigate this incident. Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for the hotel room where the incident occurred. An imitation firearm and ammunition were seized within the room, which is believed to have been used in the offence.
As a result of the investigation, detectives have identified 35-year-old Johnathan WADE of Niagara Falls as the suspect. WADE is currently at large and wanted for the following criminal charges:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Pointing a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Discharging Firearm with Intent
- Fail to Comply with Release Order x 2
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Disobey Court Order
WADE is described as follows:
- White
- Male
- 35 years old
- 5’10
- 200 lbs
- Shaved Head
WADE subsequently fled the scene in a Blue SUV. He was last seen wearing the following:
- Shirtless
- Black Pants
- Dark Shoes
Detectives are appealing to the public for any information regarding WADE’s whereabouts. Residents and businesses in the area of Queen Street and Zimmerman Avenue in Niagara Falls are requested to review video surveillance footage and contact police if the suspect is observed.

1 Male Injured in Shooting Incident – Niagara Falls
On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers responded to the area of Queen Street and Zimmerman Avenue in Niagara Falls for a shooting that had just occurred.
Responding officers located a male with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital. It was later determined that the injuries were non-life threatening.
2 District Criminal Investigative Branch has taken carriage of the investigation. Detectives have identified a suspect and believe this is a targeted incident.
