Update #1: 3 District Street Crime Investigating Theft of Dirtbikes and ATVs – Pelham
Detectives with the 3 District (Welland/Pelham) Street Crime Unit (SCU) continue to investigate this break and enter. A suspect address was identified through tips received by members of the public. On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, detectives executed a search warrant at an address on Champlain Avenue in the City of Welland.
Detectives recovered a large quantity of stolen dirtbikes, ATVs, and power tools. The value of the recovered stolen property is estimated at $150,000. Detectives are in the process of confirming ownership of the tools and contacting owners.
21-year-old Adam DEVRIES of Welland is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 (3 counts)
- Break and Enter
21-year-old Jason BERGERON of Welland is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 (3 counts)
19-year-old Braeden COLANGELO of Welland is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 (3 counts)
- Break and Enter
A 17-year-old male, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) is charged with the following criminal offence:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 (3 counts)
DEVRIES, BERGERON, COLANGELO, and the 17-year-old male attended a bail hearing subsequent to their arrest at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St Catharines.

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 3 District (Welland/Pelham) officers responded to the area of Highway 20 West and Victoria Avenue in the Town of Pelham for a Break and Enter.
3 District Street Crime Unit (SCU) took carriage of the investigation, which revealed that a large number of children’s dirtbikes, riding gear, and a side by side All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) were stolen. The estimated value of stolen property is approximately $50,000.
Detectives determined that at approximately 2:14 AM, three suspects entered the attached garage of a private residence while wearing clothing to conceal their identity. At 2:23 AM, the suspects removed several vehicles from the property and left the area.
Detectives are appealing to the public for any information related to this incident. Residents and businesses in the area are asked to review any video surveillance footage from the time of the break and enter and contact the Niagara Regional Police Service if the suspects are observed. Anyone who may have witnessed any vehicle in the area with a large amount of ATV and dirtbikes loaded is also asked to contact police.
