Community Oriented Response & Engagement Unit
The Community Oriented Response & Engagement (CORE) Unit is focused on youth engagement, community outreach, and problem-oriented policing.
Our mandate is balanced and intentional. Combining prevention, accountability, and partnership to ensure action is proportionate and grounded in community need.
Programs and initiatives include:
- Work with Niagara residents and businesses to promote positive relations between youth, the police, and the community as a whole.
- Enforce the law, assist front line officers with investigations, and develop proactive initiatives.
- Attend community events and provide education and enforcement for local businesses on current community concerns.
- Develop and implement crime prevention initiatives throughout the Niagara Region.
