Welcome to the Niagara Regional Police Service Citizens Online Reporting System.

Using our Online Reporting System allows you to submit a report immediately and retain a copy for your records.
Criteria for Filing an Online Report
- This is NOT an emergency.
- You MUST have a valid email address to use this system.
- There are NO known suspects. If a suspect is known, please contact us. If you are calling from Grimsby, Lincoln or West Lincoln, call 905-945-2211. If you are calling from any other municipality within the Niagara Region, call 905-688-4111. Our toll free number is 1-888-668-3911.
- If this incident occurred outside of the Region of Niagara, please file your report with the Police Service within the jurisdiction where the incident occurred.
- You must be 18 years of age to submit an online report
Upon completion of this report process you will:
- See the words "your online police report has been submitted".
- You will then receive a temporary police report case number and email informing you that we have received your report and that it is pending review.
- A Police Officer will review your report and either approve, reject or request follow-up information from you. In any case, you will be contacted, via email, regarding the status of your report.

Please Note:
- Filing a false police report is a criminal offence.
- To report a lost or stolen Canadian passport, please attend the nearest Passport Canada office. Please refer to www.passportcanada.gc.ca for further information.
- To report a lost or stolen foreign passport, please contact the nearest Embassy office where the passport was issued. Please refer to http://www.international.gc.ca/international to locate the appropriate Embassy or Consulate.
- To report a lost or stolen licence plate, valtag or vinplate, please attend one of our Police Districts where a Replacement Declaration form will be issued. You will then be required to take this form to the Licence Bureau.
- Reports filed on behalf of a third party, i.e. - another person or for public property, will not be accepted. Reports must be filed by the actual complainant, owner or authorized representative.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do I do if the Citizens Online Reporting System is not right for me?
A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the person or where to find the person who committed the crime OR you or someone else knows the license plate number of the vehicle the suspect(s) were in.
No. Please contact the Police Service within the jurisdiction where the incident occurred.
What does "Owner Applied No." mean?
This term means a permanent engraving or etching that has been applied to a piece of property for identification purposes.
Enter 5700 Valley Way, Niagara Falls, Ontario, L2E 1X8 in the “location of incident” field. Include in your text that the location is unknown.
Can I provide a copy of the temporary report to my insurance company?
No. Your insurance company MUST request a copy of the official police report by contacting our Police Service directly. Your insurance company will be required to obtain your consent, prior to the Police releasing a copy of your report to them.
When can I expect a response from the Police Service?
The Service commits to respond to our citizens within five (5) business days.
Can I submit additional information after I send my original report?
Yes. The online reporting system allows for supplemental information to be added after the original report has been filed.
What if I file a report for lost or stolen property and I find the property at a later time?
Please file a supplemental report through our online reporting system, advising us that your property has been found/recovered.
What if my child’s identification is lost or stolen with mine?
If your child's identification was lost/stolen during the same incident, please file a supplementary report under each additional person’s name using the report number that will be provided to you.
Should I cancel my credit card if it is lost or stolen?
Yes, contact your credit card company immediately. If you file an on-line report of a lost or stolen credit card, please indicate in the "Incident Description" box whether or not you have cancelled your credit card.
If I have several lost/stolen items to report, can I indicate them all on one Property page?
No, you need a separate Property page for each lost/stolen item.
Example: lost/stolen wallet with a driver's licence and $5, will require three(3) property pages.
We had two vehicles vandalized, can I just put them both on the same Vehicle page?
No, you'll have to report each vehicle on its own vehicle page.
