On Sunday, January 10, 2021 at approximately 6:52pm, 1 District (St. Catharines) uniform officers attended the area of Church Street and Calvin Street, in the City of St. Catharines in regards to an assault.

Initial investigation revealed that 48 year old male and a 47 year old male had gotten into an altercation.  As a result, the 48 year old male stabbed the other male.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The suspect, Roger G. Vanblaricum (48 years old) of no fixed address, is still outstanding and wanted for the following charges:

  • Aggravated Assault

Vanblaricum is described as being:

  • White
  • Male
  • 5’7
  • 220lbs
  • Short blonde hair
  • Green eyes

Vanblaricum has ties to St. Catharines.  He was last seen in the area of Church Street and Calvin Street.

Do not approach this male if observed.  Call 911.

There is no threat to the public as this was a targeted event.

The investigation remains on going by detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service.
