Detectives from 3 District (Welland/Pelham) have identified a suspect in connection with the ongoing investigation into a shooting incident in Welland.
Police are currently searching for 28-year-old Shaun Krawiec, who is wanted for the following offences:
- Aggravated Assault
- Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound, Endanger Life or Prevent Arrest
- 2 counts of Pointing a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Regulated Firearm
- 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm, Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
Krawiec (please see photo below) is believed to be in the Hamilton area, however, his current whereabouts are unknown. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately and not approach him.

ORIGINAL RELEASE - Investigation following Welland Shooting
On Friday May 9, 2025, at approximately 2:00am, Niagara Regional Police Service 3 District (Welland/Pelham) uniform officers responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the area of Leaside Drive and McCrae Drive in the City of Welland.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male with injuries.
Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) paramedics personnel arrived at the scene and assessed the victim who was ultimately transported to an out-of-region hospital for treatment. The victim’s injuries have since been determined to be non-life threatening.
The suspect fled prior to police arrival. At this time, detectives have reason to believe that the incident was targeted.
