Update 1 - April 10, 2024

Detectives continue to investigate the incident that occurred in the area of Sodom Road and Weaver Road in the Town of Chippawa on April 8, 2024.

As a result of the investigation, detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit located and seized a 2007 Black Cadillac Escalade believed to be involved in the fatal hit and run on Sodom Road.

Detectives are looking for anyone with any information about this case, who may have seen this vehicle or have video surveillance or dash camera footage between 12:00am and 7:30am on April 8, 2024 in the area of Sodom Road.

Original Release - April 8, 2024

On April 8, 2024 at approximately 7:18am, 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Sodom Road and Weaver Road in the Town of Chippawa for an assist ambulance call.

Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male deceased on the west side of Sodom Road.

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit have taken carriage of the investigation and are seeking the public’s help with this investigation. 

Anyone who may have been in the area anyone who may have video/dash cam footage between April 4th, 2024 and 7:00 am on April 8, 2024, is asked to review their footage of the area and contact police if they observe anything suspicious.

Sodom Road is currently closed between Weaver Road and Miller Road, please find alternate routes.
