Update 3 - April 18, 2024 - Arrested

On April 18, 2024, Jacob DAVIS of Kitchener was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon 
  • Aggravated Assault

DAVIS was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on April 19, 2024 at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of Catharines.

MAYER and TABORA remain wanted.

Update 2 - April 18, 2024  Suspect 

1 District detectives continue to investigate the incident that occurred on March 24, 2024. Detectives are now seeking the public's help in identifying the fifth suspect. 

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Grey and brown beard
  • Heavy build
  • Wearing black jeans, red and black running shoes, a black hoodie with a black tshirt on top and a black baseball cap.

Update 1 - April 12, 2024

1 District (St.Catharines / Thorold) Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service have continued to investigate the March 23rd, 2024 Aggravated Assault that occurred in St. Catharines.  

As a result of the investigation, detectives have identified four of five suspects.  On April 11th, 2024, 1 District (St. Catharines /Thorold) uniformed officers attended an address in the City of St. Catharines for an unrelated matter.  Upon investigation, one of the five suspects were located and arrested.  

Taylor Cronkwright (31 yrs.) was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

•Aggravated Assault

•Fail to Comply with Release Order (3 Counts)

Cronkwright was held in custody pending a video bail hearing that is expected to take place on April 11, 2024 at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.

Three other suspects have outstanding arrest warrants related to this incident. 


Jacob Davis (30 yrs.) of Kitchener is wanted for the Criminal Code offences of:

•Assault with a Weapon

•Aggravated Assault

•Indigenous male

•5’ 6” tall, 265lbs.

•Brown eyes, hair and beard

•Tattoo – Right hand – “Six Nations”

 

Ricardo Tabora (32 yrs.) of Toronto is wanted for the Criminal Code offences of:

•Aggravated Assault

•Fail to Comply with Probation

Ricardo Tabora (see photo) is described as:

•Latino male

•5’ 8” tall, 141lbs. medium build

•Black hair and beard

•Brown eyes

 

Brooklyn Mayer (29 yrs.) of St. Catharines is wanted for the Criminal Code offences of:

•Assault with a Weapon

•Fail to comply with Release Order

Brooklyn Mayer (see photo) is described as:

•White male

•5’ 9” tall, 185lbs. medium build

•Brown hair

•Hazel eyes

Detectives have determined there is a fifth unknown suspect that is yet to be identified.

Anyone who may know the location of the wanted males are asked not to approach or confront them and to contact the police.

Original Release – March 25, 2024

On March 24, 2024, at approximately 12:03am, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of St. Paul Street and James Street in the City of St. Catharines regarding a disturbance.

Investigation revealed that an altercation occurred inside of an establishment at this location with an unknown amount of males assaulting a victim where it continued outside the establishment

Niagara Emergency Medical Services attended and assessed the male victim.  He was transported to an out of region hospital with life threatening injuries.

The Forensic Services Unit attended and processed the scene.

Detectives with 1 District have taken carriage of the investigation and have reason to believe that this is not a random event.

Anyone (residents or businesses) in the area where the assault occurred with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for the period between 12:00 AM and 12:30 AM on March 24, 2024.
