Since the end of 2023, Detectives from the 2 District Street Crime Unit (Niagara Falls/Niagara on the Lake) of the Niagara Regional Police Service have been investigating the sale of illegal drugs within the City of Niagara Falls.

As a result of the investigation on Monday, April 29, 2024, two suspects were arrested after a search warrant was executed at a residential home located on Drummond Road near Lundy’s Lane in the City of Niagara Falls.  Subsequently, 204 hydromorphone pills, 2.2 grams of fentanyl, 1.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine along with 6 shot gun shells were seized.  In total, the amount of drugs seized is estimated to be a street value of $3610.

Jan ALTORF (21 years old), of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences of:

  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. (Hydromorphone)
  • Fail to comply with release order X 2

 Altorf was held in custody pending a bail hearing was held in custody for a video bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on April 30, 2024.

 Sharren BOYER (27 years old), of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences of:

  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. (Hydromorphone)

Boyer was released by way of a Form 10 undertaking with a future court date of June 13th, 2024 (9:00am) at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines
