Since April 7, 2024, officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit have been investigating this matter attempting to identify the driver of the involved motorcycle.  Officers were able to identify a suspect.

On May 3, 2024, officers met with suspect a 20-year-old man from Fort Erie. The now repainted black and grey Yamaha R6 was seized and impounded.

The suspect was charged with the following provincial offences:

  • Drive vehicle while performing a stunt, sec 172(1), HTA.
  • Owner operate motor vehicle on highway - no insurance, sec 2(1)(A), CAIA.
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle, sec 12(1)(D), HTA.
  • Drive motor vehicle improper licence, sec 32(1), HTA.

The suspect’s drivers licence was suspended for 30 days, and the motorcycle was impounded for 14 days.
