The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Sexual Assault Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding a sexual assault that occurred on September 21st, 2022, at approximately 5:30pm along a hiking trail associated to the Mel Swart Lake Gibson Conservation Park, in the City of Thorold.

On Thursday September 8, 2022, Raymond “Ray” Riley succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation to locate missing person Grace Johns has been ongoing.  On July 25, 2022, Grace was located safe in Niagara Falls.

The NRPS would like to thank the public and media for their support with this investigation.
