On Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 6:24 a.m., 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) were called by members of the public regarding a motor vehicle collision in the City of St. Catharines.

The investigation into this serious assault that occurred on May 5, 2021, in the City of Welland has been ongoing by detectives.
On Saturday May 8, 2021, at approximately 8:45am, in the City of Cambridge, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police Service arrested a male suspect.

On Saturday May 8, 2021 a gathering was organized and held in the City of St. Catharines in response to recently implemented government restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19. 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers were in attendance to ensure public safety and keep the peace.

On May 6, 2021, at approximately 5:40pm 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) were called by members of the public regarding a suspicious car in the City of St. Catharines.
Officers attended Hillview Street near Tunis Street and found a black, 2005, four door, Acura TSX parked at the side of the road with the keys in the ignition. The male driver and the female passenger were both asleep and exhibiting signs of possible drug use.

On May 6, 2021, at approximately 10:00 pm Niagara Regional Police and Niagara EMS responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the area of Highland Avenue and Central Avenue in the Town of Fort Erie.
A 52 year old male victim was located and transported to an out of town hospital where he received treatment and is in stable condition.
The subsequent Investigation led to the arrest of two suspects who were located a short time later.
