On January 21, 2020, at approximately 2:15am Police, Fire and EMS responded of Glendale Ave and the Welland Canals Parkway in regards to a motor vehicle collision in which the involved vehicle entered the Welland Canal. A member of the public had contacted 911.

On January 15, 2020, at approximately 2:30am Niagara Regional Police Service 1 District – St. Catharines officers responded to a report of an armed robbery.
Officers attended the area of St. Paul Street West and Louth Street and met with a male victim. The investigation determined the male victim had planned to provide a ride to the four male suspects. Update 1 – January 16, 2020
As a direct result of the public and media interest in this matter, detectives from the 1 District St. Catharines Street Crime Unit were able to identify one of the males involved. Further investigation by the detectives led to the identities of the other two males.
All three males have now been arrested.
Jesse William Bannon (34 years) of no fixed address, is charged with the alleged Criminal Code of Canada offences of:

On January 16, 2020, at approximately 1:50am 1 District – St. Catharines uniform officers were dispatched to investigate a threats call in the area of Sherbourne Street and Dieppe Road in St. Catharines.
As officers entered the area they observed the suspect in the investigation driving a White Lexus ES 250 with a female passenger. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle. The suspect in an attempt to evade police drove over a curb.
