A Very Busy Night in Niagara During Labour Day Weekend R.I.D.E.

On Saturday, September 5, 2020, members of the Niagara Regional Police conducted R.I.D.E. checkpoints within the Cities of Welland and St. Catharines.  Throughout the evening approximately 425 vehicles were stopped and the drivers were questioned regarding any alcohol and drug consumption. 

Within the first 30 minutes, a 46 year old male driver from Welland was arrested for impaired operation.

Two charged following drug investigation in Niagara Falls

Since August 2020, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Morality Unit have been investigating the alleged sale of Fentanyl and Crystal Meth in the Niagara Region.

Further investigation led to an arrest of a male and female on Thursday September 3, 2020   the area of Ailanthus Ave and Frontenac St in the City of Niagara Falls.

Officers then seized over 255g of blue and purple Fentanyl, over 54g of crystal meth with an estimated street value of $79 000 as well as $27 000 in currency.

Four charged following drug trafficking investigation in Niagara Falls

Since the beginning of September 2020, investigators with the Niagara Regional Police Service have been investigating the alleged sale of Fentanyl by a group of individuals in the Niagara Region.

On September 4, 2020 at approximately 11:55am members of the Intelligence Unit arrested four people in a hotel parking lot in the area of Lundy’s Lane and Belmont Ave in the City of Niagara Falls.

Further investigation led to the seizure of a quantity of Fentanyl with an estimated street value of over $156,000...

Back to School Enforcement Day

On Tuesday September 8th 2020, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service will be out across the Niagara Region in school zones in order to remind drivers and pedestrians of student’s return to school.

As students head back to school, following a prolonged absence due to COVID-19 closures, there will be a marked change on the Region’s roadways with school buses, pedestrians and vehicles making their return for another school year.

St. Catharines detectives search for suspects following robbery

At approximately 2:45am on Thursday August 27, 2020, 1 District (St. Catharines) uniform officers were called to the area of Queenston St and Eastchester Ave in the City of St. Catharines following the report of a robbery.

The victim reported that two men entered his apartment, assaulted him and fled with a sum of cash.  The victim sustained minor injuries. A K9 track of the area was unsuccessful.
