In an effort to bring further attention and deterrence to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the Niagara Regional Police Service will be reporting the names of those people who are charged with an alleged criminal impaired driving offence in the Region.

Update 1 - Detectives Investigating Smithville Homicide

Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service continue to investigate the death of an adult female in Smithville that occurred on April 26, 2024.

Investigators have identified the female as 62-year-old Cathy Prosje of Smithville and are asking anyone who may have had contact with her prior to her death on April 26, 2024, to come forward.

The investigation to locate missing person Brean MCPEAK has been ongoing by officers assigned to 3 District (Welland / Pelham).

Brean has been located and is safe.

The NRPS has removed Brean’s photo from the original media release and our social media for his privacy.  We ask the public and media outlets to consider doing the same.
