On Thursday, April 2, 2020, at approximately 10:00am, 1 District St. Catharines uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of James Street and St. Paul Street in the City of St. Catharines for a report of an assault.
The victim, a 61 year old male, suffered a serious injury after being struck with a weapon. He was treated and transported by paramedics from Niagara Emergency Medical Service to a local hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday March 31, 2020, at approximately 9:10am, officers responded to a report of a car doing circles with a person on the hood on Stanley Avenue north of Roger Crescent in Niagara Falls.
Further calls to the Niagara Regional Police Service Communications Unit led 2 District Niagara Falls uniform officers to the area of Main Street and Ferry Street in Niagara Falls again for a report of man riding on the hood of a car. As the Niagara Regional Police Service continues to adapt to the changing situation in regards to COVID-19, effective March 26, 2020, St. Catharines will be the sole site for collision reporting centers (which are contracted independently via Accident Support Services International Ltd).
