In an effort to bring further attention and deterrence to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the Niagara Regional Police Service will be reporting the names of those people who are charged with an alleged criminal impaired driving offence in the Region.

Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in St. Catharines Under Investigation

On March 15th, 2023, at 9:30am Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Vine Street / Scott Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

Niagara Falls Seeing Spike in Catalytic Converter Thefts.

The City of Niagara Falls is experiencing a spike in catalytic converter thefts.  Since early February suspects have targeted over 21 parked trucks and cars.

Thieves have been active in the residential apartment building parking lots in the “north end” (north of Thorold Stone Road) in Niagara Falls.  Thieves have also targeted commercial parking lots within the area of Montrose Road, McLeod Road, Pin Oak Drive and Canadian Drive.

Missing Person – Kristina Lorencova (29 years) – Update 1

1 District – St. Catharines / Thorold officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service continue to search for missing person Kristina Lorencova.

Detectives have received information that she was spotted in St. Catharines in January after she was reported missing. She was seen in the area of Ontario Street and Carlton Street.  Her current location is unknown.

Lorencova’s family and the police remain concerned for her welfare.
