On January 15,2020, 5 District – Fort Erie detectives arrested a man at this residence in the Crystal Beach area of the Town of Fort Erie in relation to the robbery at the Crystal Mart on January 12,2020.
Sean M. Gannon (39 years old) of Fort Erie is charged with the alleged Criminal Code of Canada offences of:
- Robbery – S. 344 (1)(b)
- Disguised with Intent- S. 351(2).

In October 2019, the Niagara Regional Police Service Central Fraud Unit commenced an investigation into suspected fraudulent activities involving Ontario Works payments and failing to disclose additional income and assets.
The Central Fraud Unit Detectives worked jointly with the St. Catharines Works Eligibility Review Office on this matter. The investigation centered on a period between April of 2016 to July of 2017, and over payments of approximately $8800.

In December of 2019 the Niagara Regional Police Service – Child Abuse Unit (CAU) commenced an investigation into an allegation of physical and sexual abuse of a child.
