Detectives investigating St. Catharines Homicide

On Thursday May 2, 2024, at approximately 9am, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Uniform Officers were called to a home in the area of Queenston Street and Lorne Street in the City of St. Catharines.

When they arrived, Officers located the deceased bodies of an adult male and adult female within the home.

The Homicide Unit now has carriage of the investigation, with the Forensic Services Unit currently processing the scene.

On May 2, 2024, at 11:04am, 3 District (Welland/Pelham) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a fire at a residential home in the area of David Street and Sauer Avenue in the City of Welland. Welland Fire Services, along with police and Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics responded to the scene.

Detectives Investigating Smithville Homicide - UPDATE 1

Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit detectives are actively investigating this incident to identify the suspect responsible for this murder and are continuing to speak to people in the community as they investigate the death of a 62-year-old female who was found inside the home.

At this time, no arrests have been made.  This is not believed to be a random act of violence.

In an effort to bring further attention and deterrence to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the Niagara Regional Police Service will be reporting the names of those people who are charged with an alleged criminal impaired driving offence in the Region.

On April 30, 2024, at approximately 12:45pm, 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) Street Crime detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service were in the area of Gale Crescent and Riordon Street in the City of St. Catharines conducting an investigation.
